Airborne Pride

The first six years of airmail were filled with excitement, danger, death, ingenuity, and a pure passion for progress. Through these trials emerged an airmail system so trusted that few remember how it even started.

Airborne Pride was inspired by my deep interest in physical mail, travel, and gallery design. Starting with the research, my goal was to tease out the details that showed the true experience of airmail. Offsetting these findings with collaged historic images, handlettering with depth, and a collection of posters suspended in wooden frame boxes based on Jenny wing supports, Airporne Pride takes a classic topic and makes it contemporary again.
